About the Role:

The Perinatal Consultant will provide expert clinical advice to women, patients, family, carers and other health care professionals within a defined specialty through the delivery of specialist consultant service. This service will be a point of contact for GPs and a link between the GP and the Hospital.

This is a Monday-Tuesday job share position working 8am-4:30pm. Leadership experience and experience in rolling out projects is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert clinical advice to women, patients, family, carers and other healthcare professionals
  • Act as a point of contact for GPs and a link between the GP and the Hospital
  • Support GPs when referrals into the Hospital are required
  • Work autonomously and in a multidisciplinary team environment

Requirements:

  • Current midwifery registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA) and 5 years full time equivalent post registration experience
  • Holds approved postgraduate qualifications relevant to the specialty or such other qualifications or experience deemed appropriate
  • Ability to work autonomously and in a multidisciplinary team environment
