About the Role

Mater Private Hospital Brisbane's Perioperative Unit is seeking skilled and experienced Registered Nurses to join our dynamic team as Critical Care Nurse Specialists.

We offer permanent opportunities with an immediate start, working across a 7-day roster including early and late shifts, weekends, and public holidays. As a valued member of our team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care in a fast-paced environment.

Salary: $45.37 - $56.20 per hour, plus 11.5% superannuation, making this a competitive and attractive opportunity.

Job Description

As a Critical Care Nurse Specialist, you will be responsible for:

  • Preparing and organizing the operating room before surgical procedures, ensuring all necessary equipment and supplies are available.
  • Assisting the surgical team by passing instruments, sponges, and other supplies during procedures.
  • Maintaining strict aseptic technique throughout the surgical process to prevent infection.
  • Collaborating with the surgical team to anticipate and respond to the needs of the surgeon, ensuring a seamless workflow.
  • Monitoring and assessing patient vital signs before, during, and after surgery, providing immediate intervention if necessary.

You will work closely with our experienced team to deliver high-quality patient care, while maintaining a commitment to continuous learning and professional development.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A current AHPRA nursing registration as a Registered Nurse (no restrictions).
  • At least 3 years' recent Scrub/Scout experience.
  • The ability to work in an ever-changing and fast-paced environment.
  • A strong work ethic, positive attitude, and willingness to role model and promote the Mater values.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to liaise with various stakeholders at different levels.
