About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Heavy Duty Fitter to join our team at McKay Drilling, a leading WA-based drilling company.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain and repair exploration drill rigs, vehicles, and equipment, including MTU, CAT, and Cummins motors.
  • Complete thorough and meticulous maintenance records and documentation.
  • Record and manage movement of mechanical spare parts.
  • Implement and maintain a regular maintenance plan to ensure efficient operation of all vehicles and machinery.
  • Maintain stock records relating to mechanical repairs and identify stock requirements.
About You
  • You will have solid experience as a Heavy-Duty Diesel Mechanic and experience working with RC and Diamond drill rigs.
  • You will have knowledge of Sullair and Hurricane compressed air systems, welding, electrical, fitting, design, and drilling.
  • You will have exceptional oral and written communication skills, general computing knowledge, and a service-focused attitude with attention to detail and time management.
  • You will be able to work unsupervised and adhere to WHS&T requirements.
Essential Selection Criteria
  • Heavy Duty Mechanical Trade/Plant Mechanic Qualification (Australian recognised) or equivalent.
  • Current police clearance.
  • Candidate must be able to pass a McKay Drilling pre-employment medical.
