Senior Mechanical Engineering Project Lead

Randstad, a global leader in human resources services, is currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Mechanical Engineering Project Lead to join their team. This exciting opportunity is based in Adelaide and offers a rare chance to secure a contract role with weekly site travel.
The successful candidate will possess strong technical expertise and engineering governance skills, with a proven track record of managing capital projects within the mining industry. They will be responsible for providing effective leadership and guidance to project teams, ensuring adherence to budget, schedule, and quality standards.
Key responsibilities of this role include:
- Developing and executing comprehensive project plans for capital projects
- Managing project stakeholders, including internal teams, contractors, and external vendors
- Identifying and mitigating project risks, developing contingency plans, and tracking progress effectively
- Leading and motivating project teams, fostering a collaborative and results-driven work environment
- Ensuring compliance with all safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements
To be considered for this position, candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Project Management, or a related field, with at least 5 years of experience in project managing brownfield capital projects within the mining industry. Previous experience with control systems is highly advantageous, as is experience with water projects.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of mining operations, equipment, and regulatory frameworks, excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills, and proficiency in project management software and tools. They must also be able to demonstrate a commitment to safety, environmental responsibility, and continuous improvement.
