About the Role

This position requires extensive experience in curriculum and the ability to support English as an Additional Language or Dialect (EAL/D) students within primary schools.

  • Collaborate with school leadership teams to implement EAL/D management plans, fostering a supportive learning environment.
  • Design and facilitate professional learning opportunities for teachers to enhance their understanding of EAL/D pedagogical practices.
  • Analyze student work samples using ACARA EAL/D Learning Progressions, providing actionable insights for instruction.
  • Develop and implement assessment strategies to inform student learning, ensuring accurate evaluation and progress monitoring.

  • Demonstrate expertise in EAL/D pedagogical practices, with a commitment to Catholic School mission values.
  • Apply knowledge of diverse EAL/D student needs to support their full participation in learning, promoting inclusive education.
  • Facilitate data-driven analysis of student work samples, identifying areas for growth and improvement.
  • Develop and utilize a range of assessment tools to inform instruction, ensuring effective teaching practices.
  • Promote collaboration among colleagues, parents, and the wider school community, fostering a culture of shared responsibility and mutual respect.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Postgraduate TESOL qualification (desired)
  • Relevant qualifications for teaching primary K – 6
  • Accredited Level B for teaching Religious Education or a commitment to gain this level
  • NESA accreditation for teaching in NSW
  • Well-developed interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
