Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Heavy Vehicle Driving Instructor to join our team in Sydney. As a key member of our training department, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality training programs to our drivers and assessing their competency in safe driving practices.

About the Role:

This is a full-time, permanent position based in one of our three depots in Sydney (Glendenning, Chipping Norton, and Unanderra). As a Heavy Vehicle Driving Instructor, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our drivers have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their jobs safely and effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver Training Programs: Provide instruction on safe driving techniques, vehicle sympathy, compliance with Heavy Vehicle National Law (HVNL), Chain of Responsibility (CoR), and Work, Health, and Safety (WHS) regulations.
  • Assess Competency: Conduct Verification of Competency Assessments (VOCs) and Operational Reviews to ensure our drivers meet the required standards.
  • Maintain Training Records: Monitor and review Driver Training Records, Coaches, and internal training material to ensure they meet the required standard.
  • Other Duties: Perform ad-hoc duties as required to support the training department.

Requirements:

  • Qualifications: Cert IV in Training & Assessment (TAE40116 or TAE40122) would be advantageous; otherwise, you must have equivalent experience and qualifications.
  • Experience: Ideally, you should have more than two years of operational experience as a Driver/Operator in the Waste Industry and hold a current HR Licence.
  • Skills: You should be motivated, enjoy working autonomously, and be part of a larger team. Strong attention to detail and thoroughness in your approach are essential.
