The Position Overview

  • This role is ideal for Rural Generalists and GP Obstetricians seeking a team-oriented clinic and hospital network with excellent earning potential and robust clinical support.

The Role

  • Enjoy diverse experiences, including a one-in-four obstetric roster, ED, and ward shifts at Port Lincoln Hospital, a 48-bed regional facility handling approximately 300 births annually.
  • Physicians can expect a guaranteed share of around 160 births per year, with significant procedural experience available.
  • GP's wanting to train in obstetrics are welcome to train in-house and gain valuable clinical exposure.

The Clinic

  • We offer 12 consulting rooms with current capacity for additional GPs.
  • We have 4 GP anesthetists, 3 GP's and 1 GP obstetrician, plus registrars, all supported by a proactive Practice Manager.
  • Shifts at Port Lincoln Hospital include ED and ward duties, with weekly retainers of $5000 and procedural incentives, increasing income potential significantly.
  • We provide Advanced Obstetric Support: Enjoy a share in a busy birth roster with flexible one-in-four on-call arrangements.
  • We use Best Practice software.

The Location

  • The position is located in a beautiful coastal city on the Eyre Peninsula, known for its national parks, wineries, and beaches.
  • The location offers convenient access to Adelaide with regular flights.
  • The community-centered lifestyle provides a balance of rural charm and close access to city amenities.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • A FRACGP/FACRRM with Advanced DRANZCOG or equivalent qualification is required.
  • Experienced or recently graduated RG Obstetricians are welcomed.
  • Opportunities are available for GPs seeking to train in obstetrics and further develop procedural skills.

The Package

  • The estimated salary is over $475,000 per annum (after service fees), with rural incentives of $70,000+ annually.
  • Rural recruitment package ($35-50K for proceduralists moving from MMM1-2) and $3,000 relocation grant are included.
  • Service fees are 65% for clinic work and only 20% for ED which balances our costs to a yearly rate of 71%.
