The Opportunity

We're looking for a High Voltage Test and Commissioning Expert to join our Assets Engineering Secondary Systems team in ElectraNet. Based full time in Adelaide, South Australia, you will coordinate, control and supervise the testing and commissioning of new and refurbished assets while conducting audits of all asset's routine maintenance undertaken by ElectraNet's maintenance service provider.

Key Skills and Qualifications
  • Tertiary qualification in Electrical Engineering with approximately 5 to 8 years' experience in secondary systems and commissioning.
  • Sound knowledge of operating HV and secondary test equipment.
  • Knowledge and skills across control system programming, testing, commissioning, operation and maintenance (programmable logic controllers, remote terminal units, HMI's, distributed control systems, SCADA/telemetry and networking protocols).
  • Familiar with power system control, primary assets, telecommunication and substation infrastructure.
  • Understanding and knowledge of protection and control system LANs for substation communication such as the IEC 61850 substation network communication standards.
  • Experience in field testing, commissioning and corrective maintenance of control systems, including complex control systems on large rotating plants and instrumentation.
  • Able to operate vendor-specific software tools for modern substation automation and protection equipment.
  • Good understanding of legislated industry requirements (Work Health and Safety regulations, National Electricity Rules, ESCOSA, OTR, AEMO Guidelines).
