Job Title: Business Intelligence Specialist

About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled Business Intelligence Specialist to join our Corporate Finance team in Sydney. This role plays a critical part in ensuring accurate capture, settlement, and reporting of electricity and financial market transactions. The successful candidate will shape the future of our back-office capabilities through innovation, automation, and data-driven insights.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Validate and reconcile settlement data for accuracy and integrity.
  • Monitor systems and dashboards, investigating anomalies and coordinating resolutions.
  • Design and maintain reports, dashboards, and analytical models to support trading and financial performance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to deliver system enhancements and reporting improvements.
  • Partner with IT to manage market data feeds, business systems, and reporting tools.
  • Drive process improvements, automation, and scalable data solutions.
  • Support regulatory, audit, and financial reporting requirements.
  • Provide backup support for deal capture and settlement operations.

Requirements:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Science, Mathematics, or related quantitative field, with at least 3 years of experience.
  • Strong skills in SQL, Power BI, and Microsoft Excel (Python, R, or SAS a plus).
  • Experience in back office, settlements, or data analysis (energy, utilities, or financial services preferred).
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with exposure to cloud platforms (e.g., AWS) advantageous.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work independently or collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
