Volunteer as a Friendly Visitor

We invite you to join our team of volunteers and make a positive impact on the lives of elderly people in your community.

About the Role

This is a great opportunity for individuals who are looking to give back to their community, develop new skills, and enhance their wellbeing through volunteering. As a friendly visitor, you will have the chance to build meaningful relationships with clients, providing companionship and support during weekly or fortnightly visits.

Key Responsibilities
  • Visit clients in their homes for 30 minutes to one hour, engaging in conversation, playing games, or simply enjoying each other's company
  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients, understanding their interests and preferences
  • Respect clients' autonomy and independence, while providing support and assistance as needed
Requirements
  • Aged 18 years or older
  • National Volunteer Police Check arranged and paid for by HammondCare
