About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Platform Engineer to join our team at Commonwealth Bank of Australia. As a key member of our technology team, you will be responsible for designing, building, and running tools, infrastructure, templates, and capabilities that our engineers use to deliver business value.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively with engineering teams to design, build, and run platforms that deliver customer value at greater quality, velocity, and safety.
  • Provide technical input and advice to projects to ensure alignment to Cyber Security, Network Architecture, and operational stability of CBA's network assets.
  • Maintain the underlying infrastructure to ensure it is reliable, secure, and scalable.
  • Support and implement changes outside of regular business hours.
  • Participate in on-call rotations and travel to data centre locations as required.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in network technology implementation and maintenance in a large-scale organization.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in DevOps and network automation, with expertise in scripting languages such as Python or PowerShell.
  • In-depth knowledge of data centre network builds and the ability to travel to Sydney-based data centres for site visits and project execution.
  • Practical experience working with popular automation frameworks, including Ansible, Terraform, and DNA Centre.

Desirable Skills

  • Familiarity with Infrastructure as a Code (IaaC) concepts and tools, such as AWS CloudFormation or Azure Resource Manager.
  • Hands-on experience integrating with Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) systems to enhance network security and monitoring capabilities.
  • Specialized knowledge of development and design methodologies, including Agile and SDLC principles.
  • Previous experience working within the Financial Services industry, with a strong understanding of regulatory requirements and compliance frameworks.
