Manitoba Health is seeking talented medical professionals to join their team as General Practitioners / Family Physicians. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who want to provide primary care services to underdeveloped communities and make a real difference in people's lives.

Job Description

This role involves providing high-quality medical care to patients, including diagnosing and treating illnesses, performing routine check-ups, and managing chronic conditions. You will also have the opportunity to work with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement treatment plans that meet the unique needs of each patient.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide primary care services to patients, including routine check-ups and management of chronic conditions
  • Diagnose and treat illnesses, referring patients to specialists when necessary
  • Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement treatment plans
  • Conduct health education sessions to promote healthy lifestyles and disease prevention
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • A Bachelor's degree in medicine or equivalent
  • Licensure with a recognized accredited body
  • Excellent clinical skills and knowledge, ideally over two (2) years of primary care experience
  • Strong English communication and interpersonal skills
  • Being bilingual in French is an asset
  • Experience in Indigenous communities of all ages is an advantage
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-based environment
  • Ability to train and mentor other healthcare professionals
