ENGINEERINGUK is hiring an Automation Engineer to join our team in Australia. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in automation and a passion for delivering innovative solutions.

About the Job:

The successful candidate will be responsible for working with our RME team to ensure the smooth operation of our logistics network. This includes troubleshooting and improving controls solutions for automated material handling equipment (MHE), mentoring team members, and driving innovations that impact customer deliveries daily.

  • Partner with the RME team to deliver high equipment availability to internal customers.
  • Develop and implement training programs for technicians in control systems fault finding.
  • Collaborate with the AU/EU Controls network to enhance MHE metrics monitoring capabilities.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives and provide data-driven insights to internal customers.
  • Work closely with IT, EU Controls Engineering, and Operations Engineering to maintain system documentation and backup procedures.
  • Support the global installation and commissioning of new equipment.
  • Collaborate with other sites in the AU network to achieve shared goals.
  • Analyzing and interpreting mechanical and electrical drawings.
  • Developing strategies for code conformity to IEC 61131-3.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in automation and relevant experience in a continuous process or production environment. Additionally, experience supporting a wide range of different conveyors and sortation systems, as well as dealing with material handling, flow, and capacity visualization and monitoring, is highly desirable.
