About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Design Manager to join our team at Frontline Recruitment Group. As a key player in our construction and project management division, you will be responsible for managing the front-end design and delivery phases of projects.

Reporting to one of our dedicated Construction Managers and the Head of Design, you will oversee a high-profile hotel/apartment development for one of Australia's most prestigious developers. Your expertise will be crucial in bridging the tender/EOI phase with project delivery, ensuring seamless collaboration with Project Managers to get projects off the ground smoothly.

As a Design Manager, you will be site-based and responsible for ensuring time, cost, and quality objectives are met. Your strong understanding of buildability and budget management within tier-one or two markets will be invaluable in navigating approvals processes with relevant authorities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead design meetings with internal stakeholders
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities through value engineering and resolving buildability issues
  • Coordinate with team members to resolve design-related challenges
  • Produce reports for senior management
  • Assist project management teams in securing necessary approvals to begin construction
Requirements
  • Degree in Construction Management or a related field
  • Proven experience in high-rise residential or boutique apartment sectors with reputable builders
  • Strong understanding of buildability and budget management within tier-one or two markets
  • Experience navigating approvals processes with relevant authorities
