Job Overview:
The Senior Strategic Sourcing Specialist plays a critical role in the management of departmental strategic sourcing activity, encompassing the development and ownership of sourcing strategies, supplier relationship strategies, and associated policies and processes.
This position is responsible for all phases of the strategic sourcing process, identifying opportunities to improve value, create competitive environments, negotiate with suppliers, and execute contracts to ensure seamless availability of products and services needed to support departmental objectives.
A key responsibility includes undertaking market research and data analysis to drive process improvements and identify opportunities for innovation while ensuring compliance with relevant procurement policies and procedures.
- Key Responsibilities:
- Negotiate high-value contracts with suppliers to deliver best possible outcomes for the department
- Provide leadership and advice to the Procurement branch on various functions in support of the Chief Procurement Officer (CPO)
Requirements:
To be considered for this position, applicants must possess a bachelor's or master's degree in a relevant discipline, demonstrated knowledge of procurement practices and procedures, and 7-10 years' experience in managing end-to-end major sourcing events.
