About the Role

The Communication Specialist provides high-quality speech pathology services to support the development of Aboriginal children and youth. This role focuses on assessment and therapeutic supports for National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) participants with neurodevelopmental disabilities, including Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder and Autism Spectrum Disorder.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver culturally-responsive speech pathology services in Alice Springs and occasional remote locations.
  • Support children and youth with a range of disabilities, particularly those living with neurodevelopmental disabilities.
  • Collaborate with families and multidisciplinary teams to optimize child development.
Work Environment

This role is based in Alice Springs with occasional travel required to remote areas. The successful candidate will work as part of a dynamic team dedicated to providing high-quality services to the community.

Benefits
  • Competitive annual salary: $100,210 - $112,222 (p.a.)
  • Total effective package: $123,479 - $137,115 (p.a.), including base salary, district allowance, superannuation, leave loading, and estimated tax saving from salary packaging options.
  • Generous Attraction and Retention bonus up to $30,000 after 24 months.
  • Sign on bonus: $10,000, followed by a further $10,000 at both 12 and 24 months of continuous service.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A relevant qualification in Speech Pathology or a related field.
  • Experience working with Aboriginal communities and individuals with disabilities.
  • Culturally responsive practice and commitment to professional development.
