Financial Analyst

We are seeking a detail-oriented Accountant with 2 years of experience to join our finance team at TMX. The role requires excellent organisational skills, strong accounting knowledge, and teamwork.
Key Responsibilities:- Trust Accounting: Maintain and reconcile trust accounts per regulatory requirements, monitor and ensure accuracy of trust transactions, manage and ensure timely rental payments, run required reports related to trust accounts and prepare statements, and assist with trust account audits.
- Accounts Payable Management: Manage and execute AP runs, including verifying and processing invoices, ensure timely payment of invoices and maintain accurate records, reconcile bank statements and vendor statements and handle discrepancies, and ensure data in AP systems and accounting systems are reconciled.
- Invoicing and Accounts Receivable Support: Assist in generating and sending out invoices to clients, monitor and follow up on outstanding receivables, and support AR reconciliations and prepare related reports.
- Payroll Processing: Process payroll accurately and timely for Australia, prepare and gather data for overseas outsourced payroll providers for monthly payroll, address payroll inquiries and resolve discrepancies, reconcile payroll source data from various regions in the accounting system, ensure compliance with payroll regulations and tax laws, and manage leave reconciliation for multiple regions.
- General Accounting Support: Assist with month-end and year-end close processes, prepare and maintain accurate financial records and documentation, collaborate with the finance team to improve processes and efficiencies, and assist with multi-regional audits.
- Communication skills: essential for building relationships and clearly conveying financial information to clients and stakeholders with varying financial literacy.
- Teamwork: requires collaboration with cross-functional teams to achieve shared goals, building relationships, and working cooperatively.
- Adaptability: able to work in a fast-paced environment, manage changing priorities, multiple tasks, and deadlines with accuracy.
- Professionalism: committed to high ethical standards, handling confidential information discreetly, and adhering to legal and regulatory requirements.
- Open to continuous improvement: contributing to the development and implementation of new processes and systems. Open to participating in transformation activities across Finance and wider business.
- Diversity and Inclusion: the role should respect clients' and stakeholders' cultural values and adapt communication and approach accordingly.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of accounting experience, preferably in trust accounting, payroll, AP, and AR.
- Experience in an accounting firm is highly valued, especially for those transitioning to an in-house role.
- Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and regulations.
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Experience with multi-regional payroll processing is beneficial but not required.
