Family Therapist

The Counsellor role is pivotal in providing counseling and education to strengthen families and ensure they are safe and have a positive wellbeing.
This involves providing integrated counseling services for individual and group environments to assist children and young people aged 5-18 who have experienced abuse or problematic sexual behavior and their non-offending family members/carers.
Additionally, the Counsellor will address issues arising from sexual abuse through therapeutic and family/carer-based support services, assessment, and individual case plans that respond to the needs of children, young people, and their families/carers.
Required Skills and Qualifications- A degree in Counselling, Social Work, Psychology, or Behavioural Science.
- Eligibility for registration or membership to AASW, APS, ACA, PACFA, or other recognised body.
- A current Driver's Licence.
- A Working with Children Check (Blue Card).
- The ability to articulate knowledge of current practice and theories of working effectively with children and young people who have been sexually abused.
