Medical Officer in Correctional Settings

This position is part of the correctional healthcare team, responsible for delivering medical services to inmates within Justice Health and Forensic Mental Health Network facilities.

  • A current medical registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) is mandatory for this role.
  • The ideal candidate will hold a Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practice (FRACGP) or Australasian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (FACRRM).
  • Recognition as a specialist by the Specialists Recognition Advisory Committee Award is also required.
  • Demonstrated experience in General Practice with knowledge of contemporary clinical management and modern approaches in assessing and managing various medical conditions is essential.
  • Prior experience in emergency medicine, general practice, adult internal medicine, or rural medicine would be an advantage.
