Job Title: Senior Solicitor

This role offers an opportunity to work in a professional and supportive team, collaborating closely with faculties and divisions to proactively manage legal risk and enable confident decision-making.

You will play a pivotal role in safeguarding the operations of this higher education institution. Your primary responsibilities include delivering timely, practical legal advice, managing complex legal matters, and supporting key projects and priorities.

A confident and collaborative legal professional is required, ideally with experience in large or complex organisations. Strong proficiency in interpreting legislation, drafting contracts, and representing clients in legal proceedings is essential.

  • Admitted as a Solicitor in Australia, with at least five years' post-admission experience.
  • Current unregistered Queensland Law Society Practising Certificate, or eligibility to obtain one.
  • Strong knowledge of Australian commercial and administrative law, including regulatory frameworks and evolving government policy.
  • Demonstrated legal experience in complex organisations, ideally within higher education.
