Job Overview

Diligent is seeking a Commercial and Product Legal Team Lead, Asia Pacific General Counsel to lead our Legal team in Asia Pacific.

Partner closely with sales, customer success, partnerships, product, engineering, marketing, security, finance, and other business teams.

Advise product and engineering teams on issues related to the development and rollout of new products and features.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with sales and customer success teams to advise on commercial matters.
  • Advise product and engineering teams on product development and rollout.
  • Manage the drafting, negotiating, and maintenance of commercial and technology-related agreements.
  • Negotiate with customers, vendors, and partners to ensure the contemplated legal terms meet business needs.
  • Work with commercial teams to establish relationships with stakeholder departments.
  • Contribute to risk assessment and mitigation, and develop new approaches to legal issues to support business goals.

Required Experience/Skills

  • 8-10 years in post-qualification experience.
  • Substantial commercial legal experience at a top law firm and in-house at a SaaS company.
  • Experience in managing staff and leading a team, with a proven ability to develop legal strategy and make business-critical decisions.
  • Expertise in drafting and negotiating commercial agreements typical to the technology sector.
  • Ability to work with sales, finance, marketing, security, product, and IT teams collaboratively in a growing organization.
