About the Position

We are seeking a skilled Electrical/Instrumentation Specialist to join our team at Opal Packaging. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, installing, and repairing a wide range of electrical and instrumentation industrial equipment. This is a unique opportunity for a motivated and self-starting individual to contribute to the success of our organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and repair electrical and instrumentation equipment to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.
  • Install new equipment and systems, ensuring compliance with safety standards and regulations.
  • Perform troubleshooting and fault-finding to identify and resolve equipment issues.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless equipment operation and maintenance.
  • Develop and implement maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and optimize equipment performance.

Requirements

  • Dual trade Electrical/Instrumentation qualification, including a current Victorian Electrical License.
  • Trade experience in maintaining, installing, and repairing electrical and instrumentation equipment.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proven safety record and commitment to maintaining a safe working environment.
  • Physical fitness and ability to work in a fast-paced industrial environment.

Desirable Criteria

  • Car, High risk, RB, LF, and WP licenses.
  • Maintenance Rigging Skills.
  • Basic Welding skills.
  • Previous experience in heavy industry.
  • Computer literacy to understand computerized Maintenance Management Systems.
  • Experience with Type B gas work.
