Environmental Volunteer Work in Cloud Forests

This sustainable sanctuary is located in the cloud-forest of Tutamoe Peak, New Zealand.
The area is home to the endangered kiwi bird and the rare giant kauri snail. Our team collaborates with locals to protect this lush forest and restore it to its natural splendor.
We operate on off-grid principles, recycling materials from other projects to construct our structures and tools.
Key Responsibilities:- Conduct biodiversity conservation and monitoring techniques at a ranger level
- Participate in hands-on conservation work in various forests, each with unique characteristics
- Track and monitor species such as kiwi, kokako, bats, lizards, and fresh water fish
Remote location offering breathtaking scenery and opportunities for self-discovery
Ambient sounds of nature create a serene backdrop for work and leisure activities
Day-to-Day Activities:- Breakfast (8 am - 9 am)
- Clean-up (9 am - 9:30 am)
- Morning work activities (10 am - 12 pm)
- Lunch (indoors or picnic-style, 12 pm - 1 pm)
- Afternoon working activities (1 pm - 4 pm)
- Free time/leisure time (4 pm - 6 pm)
- Dinner (6 pm - 8 pm)
- Leisure activities (8 pm - 10 pm)
Adaptability to weather conditions is essential, along with a 'can-do' attitude
There will be ample time to explore the surrounding areas of our little nook of New Zealand
