Job Description

We are seeking a seasoned professional to join our team as Chief AI Technology Risk Management Strategist. This role will play a critical part in ensuring the effective management of technology and cyber risks across the Commonwealth Bank.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing independent, pragmatic, and value-adding operational risk advice and assurance for technology and cyber risks across the Group.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide SME risk management advice to teams aligned with the Chief Technology Office and Chief Data and Analytics office, particularly those building core foundations for AI technology.
  • Work as part of a team of professional SMEs to provide independent, pragmatic, and value-adding operational risk advice and assurance for technology and cyber risks across the Group.
  • Monitor and report on three lines of accountability (3LoA) activities to the Executive Manager, including BAU management of the Risk Management Approach, the Operational Risk Management Framework, and Compliance Management Framework in support of CPS 220.
  • Contribute to the oversight and monitoring of key data, technology, and cyber risks, controls, issues, incidents, and risk-in-change.
  • Support the identification, escalation, and reporting of related technology and cyber risk and compliance matters to stakeholders, including NFRCs, EM/GM, and the Technology and Operations CRO.
Requirements
  • Detailed working and technical knowledge of AI and Gen AI systems, ideally familiar with solution architectures such as Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG).
  • Experience in risk management and risk frameworks/3 lines of defence model, ideally in banking.
  • High-quality written and verbal communication skills, report writing, evidence gathering, and data analysis capabilities.
  • Stakeholder and influencing skills with the ability to engage Line 1 teams and provide pragmatic, commercially balanced risk advice.
  • A curious and humble mindset, understanding of external trends and changes, interest in continuous learning, and a commitment to building risk management best practice.
Salary and Benefits

The salary for this role is estimated to be around $200,000 - $250,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.
