Job Overview:
A seasoned Human Resources professional with extensive expertise in Employee and Industrial Relations is sought to join a forward-thinking local council.
This pivotal business partnering role offers the opportunity to transition into a permanent position for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a complex ER/IR portfolio, including investigations, disputes, performance management, and casework.
- Provide strategic support to leaders, driving strong people outcomes through expert advice and coaching.
- Contribute to organisational change initiatives and future-focused projects, such as workforce planning and technology enhancements.
- Collaborate closely with other Business Partners and a Payroll & Data Reporting Specialist.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Depth of experience in ER/IR, managing complex issues and interpreting industrial instruments.
- Track record as a trusted HR Business Partner, operating independently in challenging environments.
- Excellent stakeholder management and interpersonal skills, influencing outcomes and building relationships.
- Ability to balance operational ER/IR casework with strategic project contributions.
- Strong knowledge of employment legislation, Awards, and Agreements (local government experience beneficial).
- Resilience, confidence, and ability to deliver results without close supervision.
