Salary: $120,000 - $180,000 per annum, depending on experience.

Job Description:

You will spearhead the implementation and auditing of Safety Management Systems as a Health & Safety Advisor reporting directly to the HSES Superintendent within Fortescue's Exploration Team. Your mission is to foster continual improvement in an ever-evolving exploration environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Align with the Exploration strategic plan, focusing on HSES performance and collaborating with Leaders.
  • Coach and mentor Leaders and team members, fostering safety compliance, proactive risk management, and assurance activities.
  • Champion the drive towards global safety leadership, embodying personal safety values and supporting Exploration leaders to do the same.
  • Support Exploration Contract partners in meeting Fortescue's Minimum Requirements, providing crucial coaching to Supervisors.
  • Offer a range of services, including safety training, risk assessments, incident investigations, data analysis, assurance/validation, and presentation of health and safety initiatives.
  • Adapt and work in remote settings where Fortescue Exploration operations occur, even in areas with limited amenities and services.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proven track record as a Safety Advisor.
  • A Tertiary Qualification in Workplace Health & Safety or equivalent.
  • Past involvement in Green and/or Brown Field's Exploration, Drilling, or Mining industries highly valued.
  • Safety Auditing qualification as a Lead Auditor (preferred).
  • Demonstrated experience in ICAM investigations (or similar).
  • Current Western Australian Drivers License or higher.
