About The Role
We are seeking a skilled Project Coordinator – Disaster Preparedness and Planning to play a pivotal role in integrating general practice into Western Australia's disaster and emergency planning framework.
The successful candidate will work collaboratively with general practices, government agencies, and community organizations to ensure that healthcare providers have the tools, training, and resources they need to deliver effective care during emergencies and disasters.
This role involves coordinating the planning, execution, and evaluation of disaster preparedness and emergency planning initiatives, developing and maintaining comprehensive project plans, ensuring alignment with WAPHA's strategic objectives, and establishing effective relationships with stakeholders.
This role offers a Full-time Maternity leave cover for 12 months.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate disaster preparedness and emergency planning initiatives to ensure seamless collaboration between stakeholders.
- Develop comprehensive project plans to achieve strategic objectives and organizational priorities.
- Foster effective relationships with general practices, government agencies, and community organizations to enhance stakeholder engagement and knowledge sharing.
- Deliver training programs to build the capacity of general practices in emergency preparedness and response.
- Design and disseminate evidence-based tools and resources tailored to project needs.
- Provide ongoing guidance and support to stakeholders to enhance their capabilities.
- Prepare and deliver high-quality reports on project progress, risks, and outcomes for internal and external stakeholders.
- Evaluate project outcomes and recommend improvements to enhance effectiveness.
- Maintain robust governance structures and documentation for all project activities.
- Support audit and evaluation processes to uphold accountability and compliance.
About You
To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following selection criteria:
Essential Experience and Education
- Tertiary qualifications in health or a related field.
- Demonstrated knowledge of primary healthcare systems, particularly general practice.
- Proven experience working within emergency management frameworks.
- Advanced communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
- Proficiency in structured methodologies for project planning and delivery.
- Strong ability to build and sustain collaborative relationships to achieve shared goals.
- Experience in delivering training and capacity-building programs.
- Knowledge of state emergency management systems in Western Australia.
- Understanding of regional challenges across Western Australia, including remote and rural areas.
