The purpose of the Reliability Electrical Engineer is to provide electrical engineering capability & support to manage and optimise assets and processes to ensure Safe, Sustainable and Reliable performance on site. This is to be compliant with regulations and BHP's policies, procedures and standards.

About The Role:

  • This exciting role involves being a member of a team focussed on continually improving the performance and capability of the Carrapateena fixed plant, through application of engineering principles and timely decision making.
  • You will ensure any engineering design is safe, effective and reliable for the business needs.
  • Your responsibilities will also include supporting Maintenance Execution with their assets.
  • You will identify and control material risks for electrical assets.
  • Actively collaborate within the team to harness the multi-discipline skills available.
  • You will deliver innovative improvement opportunities to exceed current performance (safety, cost, throughput or quality).
  • Management and coordination of external service providers or consultants where required.
  • You will comply with standard department business processes and communicate these effectively.
  • Your tasks will involve ensuring all work is planned and scheduled to agreed levels of efficiency.
  • You will actively participate in the Continuous Improvement business process.

About You:

  • An IEAust recognised electrical engineering degree is required.
  • You should have safety orientated knowledge with sound OH&S awareness and understanding of specific statutory obligations.
  • Strong troubleshooting and fault-finding skills using multiple data sources and established methodologies are necessary.
  • Experience in risk management incl. material risk is essential.
  • Demonstrated experience in operational site electrical & instrumentation engineering is necessary.
  • You must have the ability to provide sound, timely and pragmatic technical direction to site teams.
  • Delivering CAPEX and OPEX engineering projects and plant upgrades in a brownfields environment is a requirement.
  • Using CMMS, EAM, ERP solutions (SAP preferred) is necessary.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Asset Management principles and their application is required.

Salary and Benefits:

This permanent, full-time position offers a competitive salary range of $120,000 - $180,000 AUD per annum, depending on experience. In addition, you will receive a generous benefits package including flexible working options, a paid parental leave policy, extended leave entitlements and parent rooms.
