AOD Therapist

We are seeking an experienced AOD Therapist to join our team in Ringwood, working with the Substance Use Recovery (SURe) program. This role offers a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of individuals and families affected by substance use disorders.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality therapeutic AOD counselling and associated health services to clients. This will involve identifying co-occurring mental health, social, and primary health issues, and providing integrated and collaborative counselling and support to address these needs.

As an AOD Therapist with SURe, you will work in a welcoming, hopeful, strength-based, family-inclusive, trauma-informed, recovery-oriented, culturally appropriate, dual diagnosis capable service. You will utilise MARAM and trauma-informed frameworks to support individuals experiencing family violence.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide accessible, high-quality AOD counselling and associated health services to clients
• Identify and address co-occurring mental health, social, and primary health issues
• Work collaboratively with clients, families, and other stakeholders to achieve positive outcomes

Requirements:

• Degree or higher in Mental Health, Social Work, Psychology, or an AOD-related field
• Experience in AOD counselling, preferably in a voluntary or mandated setting
• Competencies in AOD, including diploma-level training
