About UsThe Queensland Fire and Emergency Services (QFES) is an emergency service agency responsible for ensuring the safety of people and property across Queensland through prevention, preparation, response, and recovery activities.
We deliver high-quality fire, rescue, emergency, and disaster management services through a single agency, collaborating with key stakeholders to achieve improved safety outcomes for the community.
Key Requirements- Mandatory requirements include providing employers' written consent to attend incidents and emergencies, living or working within a reasonable distance of auxiliary fire stations, being an Australian Permanent Resident, and holding a manual C Class driver's licence.
In addition, QFES expects all auxiliary firefighters to commit to attending 50% of incident calls as a day worker or 30% as a shift worker, participating in regular drill and training sessions, obtaining an MRV licence within 12 months, and complying with QFES policies and procedures.
Your Key Accountabilities- You will be part of a team responding to fire and other emergency incidents while promoting community safety and emergency preparedness through community education activities.
- You will develop and maintain competencies by participating in regular drills and training courses provided by QFES to ensure safety and effectiveness on the fire ground.
- Other key accountabilities include operating specialist firefighting equipment, contributing to station maintenance, and incident reporting.
