We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Contracts Advisor to join our team in Australia. As a key member of our contracts and procurement team, you will be responsible for managing day-to-day contractual matters, including construction and service contracts, for a major project in the early works execution phase.
Key Responsibilities- Manage commercial and technical evaluation of bids and ensure purchase orders comply with specifications.
- Identify and recommend procurement strategies to minimize costs without compromising service levels.
- Prepare and issue tender documentation, enquiries, and purchase orders for high-value/high-risk items.
- Contribute to and review scopes of work and contract conditions.
- Assess, review, and advise senior/project managers on contractor claims for variations, progress claims, and extensions.
- Ensure all commercial requirements of the contracts are satisfied and develop and maintain sound professional relationships with key suppliers.
- A tertiary degree in commerce, engineering, law, or other relevant discipline.
- 7+ years' experience establishing and managing high-value long-term service contracts.
- A good understanding of large-scale mining and resource projects, particularly iron ore.
- Prior experience working in an EPC/EPCM environment during the study phase.
- Attention to detail and rigorously follows procedures.
- Highly developed written and verbal communication skills with the ability to build effective relationships with clients.
