Brisbane Festival is Australia's most exciting, engaging and defiant arts event that transforms the city into a stage with a creative, innovative and inclusive program.

  • As our new Artistic Director, you will lead one of Australia's top festivals, redefining what an International Arts Festival looks and feels like.
  • You will present a bold international program transporting our audience beyond the everyday through captivating performances and installations from across the world.
  • We are deeply committed to making the impossible possible for our audiences and our artists.

The ideal candidate will have the ability to collaborate across borders, progress the festival's growing production footprint and work with other arts companies, stakeholders, sponsors and donors.

This is a unique opportunity for a creative visionary to steer the organisation through the lead up to the Cultural Olympiad.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Building on the artistic and commercial success of Brisbane Festival
  2. Leveraging the city's boundless ambition to create a bold and innovative program
  3. Collaborating with artists, stakeholders and partners to drive the festival's growth and development

With a brief to use the city as a stage, our next Artistic Director will be ambitious, collaborative and innovative – a visionary, commercially savvy arts leader with broad networks and the ability to inspire and motivate others.
