Colorectal Surgeon

Cabrini Health is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Colorectal Fellow to join our team. As a Colorectal Fellow, you will have the opportunity to work with a high-volume and high-quality colorectal surgery team, including robotic and laparoscopic colorectal resections, transanal surgery, and anorectal physiology.
About the RoleThe Colorectal Fellow will assist, under supervision, in the management of colorectal inpatients and participate in the clinical and translational research program. The successful candidate will have a Fellowship in General Surgery of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons or equivalent and be committed to a year of dedicated colorectal training.
Key Responsibilities- Responsibility for the clinical management of colorectal inpatients and emergencies as directed and supervised by the colorectal surgeons
- Participation in colorectal audit activities
- Participation in the Cabrini Monash University Department of Surgery research program
- Participation in the Cabrini undergraduate teaching program
- Registered Medical Practitioner with relevant experience
- Senior registrar level preferably FRACS (or equivalent)
- Demonstrated skills and experience in qualitative research and data analysis
- Well-developed computer skills including Microsoft Office suite
- Demonstrated experience performing literature reviews and preparing grant applications and ethics submissions
- A track record of publications in peer-reviewed journals and evidence of presentations at national and international scientific meetings
- Well-developed written and verbal communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively with a range of stakeholders and the ability to tailor information to different audiences
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with both colleagues and research participants
- Proven ability to work independently, use initiative, and drive research projects
