  • Assist the chef to ensure the smooth running of the kitchen.
  • Prepare mise en place for all relevant menus.
  • Ensure consistent great food production, in line with high quality standards.
  • Ensure all dishes are prepared consistently and according to standard.
  • Ensure strict stock rotation and minimum wastage, and assist with ordering necessary food items.
  • Comply with WHS and food safety legislation.
  • Provide a courteous and professional service and ensure guest feedback are actioned and communicated to the team.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • At least 1 year work experience as a Demi Chef in a hotel or restaurant with high food quality standards.
  • The ability to operate various kitchen equipment and practice sound cooking techniques.
  • Completion of Chef Apprenticeship or Certificate in commercial cookery.
  • Good food hygiene and safety knowledge, including safe and accurate knife skills.
  • Knowledge and experience in a variety of different cooking methods.
  • Availability to work varied shifts, including early mornings, late evenings, weekends and public holidays.
  • Ability to work autonomously as well as within a team.
