Refrigeration Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled Refrigeration Technician to join our team.

Job Description:

The Refrigeration Technician will be responsible for the installation, maintenance and repair of refrigeration systems. This includes establishing job requirements from drawings and specifications, drilling holes, installing mounting brackets and cuttings, bending and threading piping.

Additional responsibilities include installing, repairing and replacing defective components, adjusting system controls and mechanisms, and reassembling systems.

The Refrigeration Technician will also be required to test-operate refrigeration systems, checking mechanisms and making adjustments, as well as removing test gas and fluid using vacuum pumps, and filling with refrigerant.

Other duties may include checking and overhauling refrigeration systems, diagnosing faults and taking corrective action, and recording causes of malfunctioning and action taken.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Hold a Certificate III in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning RAC01 - Full refrigeration and Air Conditioning Licence
  • Have at least three (3) years of relevant experience as a Refrigeration and Airconditioning Mechanic or equivalent
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, their operation and troubleshooting techniques
  • Proficiency in using diagnostic tools, including multimeters, pressure gauges and leak detectors
