Senior Chinese Social Media Strategist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Chinese Social Media Strategist to join our Melbourne-based team on a freelance/contract basis.

The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of Chinese social media platforms, specifically WeChat and Little Red Book, and be able to create impactful content that resonates with Chinese audiences.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Create and execute a monthly social media posting plan for WeChat and Little Red Book, adapting Western content to resonate with Chinese audiences.
  2. Collaborate with teams to align strategies with campaign goals.
  3. Develop and maintain relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) and ambassadors to amplify campaign impact.
  4. Guide video content production, including subtitles and translations, leveraging in-house production capabilities.
  5. Write recommendations and provide commentary for monthly performance reports using standard social media analytics tools.

Requirements:

  • Expertise in Chinese social media platforms: Proven experience managing campaigns on WeChat and Little Red Book, with a deep understanding of platform nuances and best practices.
  • Cultural knowledge: In-depth understanding of the Chinese student experience in Australia and how to create culturally resonant content.
  • Language skills: Native-level fluency in written and spoken Mandarin is essential; English proficiency is also required.
  • Analytical skills: Familiarity with social media reporting tools to track and report performance metrics.
  • Collaboration skills: Ability to work with diverse teams across account management, social media, and content production.
  • Flexibility: While office presence is preferred one day per week, flexibility will be considered for the right candidate.
