We're looking for a Senior QA Engineer who will play a critical role in ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of our platform. As a member of our distributed team based in central London (hybrid), you'll have the opportunity to work closely with Engineering, Product, and School Ops teams.

Job Description

As a Senior QA Engineer, you will:

  • Develop and maintain robust test strategies for our web and mobile apps, covering functional, performance, and security testing.
  • Implement and enhance automated testing frameworks to ensure high test coverage across APIs, frontend, and backend services.
  • Continuously monitor and improve software quality through proactive testing, root cause analysis, and risk-based assessments.
  • Debug critical production issues, participate in incident management, and drive resolutions to prevent recurrence.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you'll need:

  • Strong experience in test automation for web and mobile, using tools like Cypress.
  • Critical thinking on when to automate tests versus manual testing for maximum efficiency.
  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Git Hub Actions) and integrating automated tests.
  • Experience with monitoring and observability tools (e.g., Data Dog, Grafana, Prometheus) to analyze system health and test results.
