This role suits a dedicated individual with expertise in research methodology and a passion for driving change in Indigenous mental health, suicide prevention, and criminogenic research.

  • This includes leading complex data analysis projects, psychometric test validation, and structural equation modeling using advanced statistical software to drive meaningful outcomes in Indigenous-focused research initiatives.
  • The selected candidate will collaborate on the development of Indigenous-specific research methodologies, ensuring culturally responsive mental health treatments and interventions are designed, executed, and evaluated effectively.
  • A key aspect of this role is contributing to scholarly publications, conference presentations, and technical reports that share insights with both Indigenous and non-Indigenous sectors.
  • The successful applicant will support grant applications and research funding efforts to ensure the sustainability of vital Indigenous-focused research initiatives.
  • In addition, they will provide expert guidance on psychometric analysis, research design, and statistical modeling, mentoring research officers and Indigenous psychology scholarship recipients.
  • This involves collaborating with Indigenous communities and partner organisations to co-design culturally safe research that addresses data gaps and aims to improve outcomes in Indigenous mental health.
  • Masters degree in Psychology (or equivalent qualifications)
  • Proven experience in psychometric validation, statistical modelling, and working with large datasets
  • A commitment to culturally appropriate research practices, with a focus on community engagement, cultural safety protocols, and ethical governance
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across sectors and represent the organisation at academic and professional forums
