Aged Care Assistant

At CraigCare Group, we are seeking experienced Aged Care Assistants to join our team at our Ascot Waters Home in Western Australia.
This is a part-time opportunity to work across morning and afternoon shifts, assisting our residents with their daily living activities to enhance their well-being and quality of life.
You will work under the guidance of our Registered Nurses, contributing to the overall quality of life of our residents and ensuring care delivery meets the highest standards.
Main Responsibilities:
- Support Residents' Independence: Enable residents to live the life they choose by allowing them to exercise choice and independence in their daily lives.
- Enhance Quality of Life: Contribute to maintaining high-quality care and enhancing the overall quality of life for our residents, encompassing physical, emotional, and lifestyle interests.
- Implement Care Interventions: Implement clinical and care interventions delegated by Registered Nurses, as documented in the resident's care plan.
- Personal Care and Hygiene: Assist residents with their personal care and hygiene needs while encouraging their independence and dignity.
- Prioritization and Compassion: Prioritize workloads effectively and deliver care with decency, kindness, patience, and respect for residents' individual needs.
To be successful in this role, you will require:
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
- Effective Communication: Possess strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Aged Care Knowledge: Have a solid understanding of Aged Care Quality Standards, the Aged Care Act, and Quality of Care Principles.
- Reliability and Computer Skills: Be reliable and able to work to a roster with set shifts, possessing basic computer skills.
- WH&S and Infection Control: Demonstrate working knowledge of Workplace Health and Safety (WH&S) and infection control principles.
- Certificate III: Hold a Certificate III in Aged Care/Individual Support or be currently working towards it.
- Previous Experience: Previous experience within the aged care sector is preferred but not essential.
- Clearances and Certificates: Possess current NDIS clearance, proof of rights to work, and a current immunisation certificate, including influenza and vaccination against COVID-19 and its booster.
