Key Role in Strategic Communications

The successful candidate will provide strategic oversight and hands-on delivery for the organisation's advocacy agenda, communications, marketing, and promotion of key initiatives. The role involves working collaboratively with the team and stakeholders to promote innovative information resources, tools, and awareness campaigns.

This senior leadership position combines strategic planning with execution and requires the ability to drive a unified approach across states, elevate brand awareness, and spearhead national fundraising.

The position will support a holistic approach to the organisation's communications activities and events.

Responsibilities
  1. Promote the advocacy agenda and support advocacy activity.
  2. Develop and implement effective communications strategies for grant-funded projects.
  3. Lead the design, launch, and optimisation of a new national awareness campaign, leveraging partnerships to build momentum.
  4. Coordinate national communications and fundraising activities across all states and territories:
  • Manage the development of governance frameworks, toolkits, and training for consistency and best practice.
  • Facilitate regular forums to share insights and track progress.
Identify and leverage media, marketing, and promotional opportunities.Develop engagement strategies and activities to stakeholders, including people living with MND.Develop holistic marketing and communication approaches to all organisational activity.Perform other duties as directed.About You
  1. Demonstrated experience in communications, marketing, and advocacy.
  2. Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to establish relationships with staff and stakeholders.
  3. High-level written, editing, and proofing skills, including traditional and digital multimedia.
  4. Self-motivated, strong problem-solving, and multitasking abilities.
  5. Ability to work independently and as an effective team member.
  6. Experience planning and executing awareness campaigns and high-quality events.
