Hospitality Culinary Expert

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Cook to join our vibrant hospitality team at Derwent Waters Retirement Living in Claremont. As a key member of our kitchen team, you will be responsible for preparing and serving high-quality meals to our residents.

This is a casual position that involves assisting our team with filling shifts. If you have a background in kitchen hand, cook, or chef roles and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, this could be an ideal opportunity for you.

As a Cook, you will be responsible for:

• Assisting in the daily kitchen preparation and serving of meals by following pre-set menus and recipes
• Providing restaurant-style kitchen and dining service
• Ensuring daily quality meal service to residents and visitors of the surrounding Aveo community
• Daily monitoring of food safety plans and following all Food Services procedures

To be successful in this role, you will need:

• Knowledge and/or experience in catering/kitchen/hospitality settings highly desired (e.g., experience in food prep roles)
• A friendly and warm persona with a passion for food and chatting with residents
• Current Police check (required, but we can complete for you)
• Minimum of two (2) COVID-19 Vaccinations (required)

We offer a competitive hourly rate of $34.55 including 25% casual loading, relevant entitlements, superannuation, and opportunities for career development and advancement.
