About This Opportunity

As a Senior Project Engineer at Lactalis Australia, you will play a critical role in managing and leading the capital program for two manufacturing sites. Your primary responsibility will be to oversee and implement the Long-Term capital development plan, ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and lead CAPEX projects for the Cheese business unit, focusing on Continuous Improvement and technical support for maintenance.
  • Integrate Mechanical and Process Engineering teams, emphasizing CAPEX and Continuous Improvement initiatives to meet project deadlines.
  • Oversee project budgets and expected outcomes, ensuring timely completion and adherence to schedules.
  • Plan, manage, execute, and commission CAPEX Projects, including team leadership, external contractor coordination, and performance management.
  • Identify and resolve mechanical, process, electrical, or automation problems for existing and new facilities.
  • Participate in design/Hazop reviews to ensure robust solutions are implemented.
  • Manage mechanical and process activities on site, including installation, commissioning, and performance testing.
  • Coordinate electrical and automation activities, including documentation and specifications.
  • Ensure designs comply with Australian Standard Code of Practice, site requirements, and local council regulatory standards.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Tertiary qualification in Process, Mechanical, or Mechatronics Engineering.
  • Postgraduate project management qualifications (desirable).
  • Dairy Industry Experience, with knowledge of dairy manufacturing machinery and equipment essential (5+ years).
  • Experience in the Australian Food Industry (2+ years).
  • Hands-on experience working on complex CAPEX and Continuous Improvement Projects from concept to commission.
  • Ability to manage over 10 projects concurrently, at different stages of their lifecycle.
  • HAZOP experience (desirable).
Computer Skills Requirements
  • Microsoft Suite covering Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Microsoft Project for managing timelines (desirable).
  • Computer-Aided Design – AutoCAD-2D.
  • Computer-Aided Design – AutoCAD/Solidworks-3D (desirable).
Estimated Salary Range

The estimated annual salary range for this position is between $120,000 to $160,000 AUD, depending on relevant experience and qualifications.
