Job Description

Caring for seniors in their own homes can be a rewarding experience.

As a caregiver, you will have the opportunity to work locally within your community and make a positive impact on the lives of seniors and their families.

Develop your skills within a supportive team and enhance your experience as a nursing student or allied health professional.

Current opportunities exist for 20 caregivers in Melbourne's eastern suburbs.

About this role:

Provide compassionate home care through building trust and taking the lead to support individuals to live as independently as possible at home connected to their community.

Individualised care that is tailored to suit the personal needs of our individual clients.

Duties:

  • Assist with showering, dressing, grooming, toileting and mobility.
  • General home support and light house keeping duties, assistance with meal preparation, companionship, medication reminders.
  • Incidental transport to appointments, shopping and social outings.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Possess excellent communication skills, a can-do attitude, empathy for and an understanding of the needs of the elderly.
  • Have a big heart, patience, and a desire to help improve the lives of seniors and their families.
  • Be personable, compassionate, approachable and able to build relationships with each of your clients.
  • Be proficient in use of and have a mobile smart phone.
  • Be reliable, responsive, efficient, confident and proactive.
  • Value and enjoy the company of older people.
