
Laboratory Specialist

A Medical Laboratory Scientist is required to perform a range of operational laboratory activities including coordination and provision of scientific and technical training.
The position involves delivering quality laboratory practices to ensure compliance with operational standards and procedures, quality standards and continual process improvement.
Key Responsibilities- Delivering operational laboratory activities, including the coordination and provision of scientific and technical training
- Ensuring quality laboratory practices through compliance with operational standards and procedures, quality standards and continual process improvement
- Bachelor Degree or higher degree in Science/Medical Laboratory Science or an equivalent qualification
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the delivery of pathology services, including use of Laboratory Information Systems, Patient Systems and Quality Control Systems and computer programs such as Microsoft Office suite
- Excellent communication skills, including oral and written communication, customer service approach and ability to communicate with diverse stakeholders
- Eligibility for a Rural Health Workforce Incentive Scheme allowance of up to $3,160 per annum in addition to award entitlements

To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate:
- A bachelor degree or higher degree in science/medical laboratory science or an equivalent qualification
- Experience in delivering pathology services using laboratory information systems, patient systems, and quality control systems
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
