Position Summary:
We are currently looking for a Driller to join our team for a significant drilling project. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our drilling rigs. Key responsibilities include:
- Overseeing the safe functioning of the drill rig and associated equipment, ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Leading and mentoring crew members, providing clear expectations and training on daily operations and company protocols.
- Monitoring operations to guarantee adherence to safety standards and established procedures.
- Maintaining the cleanliness and orderliness of drilling rigs, vehicles, and storage areas.
- Preparing and submitting comprehensive drilling operation reports.
- Ensuring all safety equipment is operational and correctly positioned.
- Supervising equipment repairs and maintenance.
- Operating rig systems from the control panel to enhance drilling efficiency and overseeing activities on the rig floor.
- Implementing proper well control practices in accordance with H&P's operational guidelines.
- Monitoring mud pump performance and conducting necessary maintenance.
- Executing lockout/tagout procedures during equipment repairs.
- Managing the condition and analysis of drilling fluids in both active and reserve systems.
- Overseeing fluid levels in mud tanks and ensuring proper transfer and maintenance of solids control equipment.
- Evaluating drilling operations and recommending procedural adjustments to meet operational goals.
- Planning and directing the erection, dismantling, and relocation of drilling rigs.
- Coordinating the delivery of essential drilling tools and supplies.
- Conducting inspections of rigs and submitting condition reports while ensuring preventive maintenance is performed.
- Assessing wellbore conditions to determine drilling outcomes.
- Ensuring compliance with all relevant company policies.
- Providing regular updates and collaborating closely with site management.
- Completing assigned training modules as required.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in rig drilling.
- At least 2 years of experience with FlexRig technology.
- Ability to work in a 21 x 21 rotation, including daily safety meetings and extended work hours.
- Must meet Australian certification requirements for onshore drillers.
Skills and Attributes:
- Strong commitment to safety and compliance with H&P's health, safety, and environmental standards.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and H&P applications.
