About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Food Service Professional to join our team. As a key member of our kitchen and food service team, you will play a vital role in providing nourishing meals that contribute to the health and well-being of our residents.

Job Description

The successful candidate will assist in the preparation, presentation, and serving of meals to residents. This will include maintaining cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen, dining areas, and food service spaces, as well as setting tables and ensuring all utensils and crockery are clean.

You will also be responsible for delivering food and beverages to residents in the dining room and, when necessary, to their rooms, ensuring dietary requirements and preferences are met for each resident.

In addition, you will collaborate with the broader team to provide holistic support to residents and foster a positive and inclusive community atmosphere within the care facility.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Previous experience in food service, hospitality, or aged care (preferred but not essential)
  • Strong attention to detail and cleanliness
  • A genuine passion for working with older people and enhancing their quality of life
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and independently
  • Understanding of the importance of maintaining residents' dignity and independence

  • Knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices (or willingness to learn)

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the preparation, presentation, and serving of meals to residents
  • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen, dining areas, and food service spaces
  • Assist in meal setup, including setting tables and ensuring all utensils and crockery are clean
  • Deliver food and beverages to residents in the dining room and, when necessary, to their rooms
  • Ensure dietary requirements and preferences are met for each resident
  • Collaborate with the broader team to provide holistic support to residents
  • Collect, clean, and store dishes and utensils after meals
  • Foster a positive and inclusive community atmosphere within the care facility
  • Follow health, safety, and food hygiene standards always
