About the Role
We are seeking a Technical Lead to join our Energy sector team in Sydney, NSW or Melbourne, VIC. Laing O'Rourke is looking for leaders in a range of energy projects with a focus on HV transmission lines and other bespoke electrical projects across Australia.
Key Responsibilities
You will be responsible for leading all technical aspects of the project, including design, engineering delivery, digital engineering, and quality, ensuring we deliver value and technical certainty that exceeds client expectations.
About You
The ideal candidate will have a strong project management background, with a technical bias, and experience in the design, procurement, construction, and commissioning of works in energy projects.
You will be engineering degree qualified in electrical, power systems, or a related field, with a professional chartership from a recognised institution. A master's qualification providing a technical or leadership extension to your base degree is preferred.
You will have significant experience working with transmission and renewables projects, including HV and/or HVDC, such as grid connection/substations (electrical balance of plant).
You will be adept at leading design teams and coaching and developing engineers, with a diverse skillset that enables you to make significant contributions to different phases of the project and the company as a whole.
