Job Overview

The Australian Federal Police is seeking a skilled project manager to lead the delivery of major capital projects and programs.

  • Lead end-to-end delivery of major infrastructure projects or programs, including planning, procurement, public works submissions, construction, and commissioning phases.
  • Contribute to the development, implementation, and evaluation of accommodation solutions, principles, standards, and policies to achieve efficient and optimal use of AFP premises and resources.
  • Manage risk, scope, time, cost, and quality across multiple concurrent projects.
  • Support and provide input into internal and external funding bids, business cases, and high-level reporting to senior management.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop team member capability through sharing skills, knowledge, and expertise.
  • Manage project procurement activities and participate in the negotiation of contracts and agreements relating to capital works projects.
  • Provide expert advice on Commonwealth procurement and delivery methodologies.
  • Pursue, develop, and nurture professional networks and collaborative working relationships to ensure the efficient and effective management of capital works projects.
  • Maintain accurate records and comply with regulatory requirements.

Essential Requirements:

  • Be an Australian Citizen at the time of application.
  • Hold a Negative Vetting 1 (Secret) security clearance or be able to obtain one.
  • Demonstrate understanding of Commonwealth procurement policies and legislation.
  • Demonstrate experience in delivering major capital works projects and programs.
  • Demonstrate experience in leading project teams and developing team member technical capability.
