About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Utilities & Assets Officer to join our Infrastructure Services Team at Port of Newcastle. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy of utility data, managing tenant meter information, and meeting regulatory requirements related to power and water services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review and manage power supply contracts to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Liaise with utility authorities to resolve any issues or discrepancies.
  • Provide data analysis and usage forecasts to inform decision-making tasks.
  • Oversee maintenance planning by generating work orders, coordinating with contractors, and ensuring all work documentation is accurately recorded and processed.
  • Maintain the asset register, update asset records, and asset management plans.
  • Contribute to risk assessments, long-term budget forecasting, and the ongoing development of the asset management system.
  • Manage the Port's vehicle fleet, including coordinating vehicle replacements, tracking fuel usage, ensuring timely maintenance, and managing vehicle registration renewals.
  • Support the development of processes for managing utility services and contractors, ensuring operational efficiency and regulatory compliance.
Requirements
  • Minimum of five years' experience in utilities or asset management.
  • Proven experience working across various systems and processes to support infrastructure management.
  • Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) tools, especially in asset management and finance functions.
  • Highly proficient with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and strong report writing, data management, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently, while effectively coordinating with internal teams and external contractors.
