About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our team at Rio Tinto, a leading global mining and materials company. As an Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for providing technical assistance in the bauxite processing plants, stockyards, and export facilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work alongside other engineering, technical, and trade disciplines to provide sustainable and efficient solutions to engineering problems affecting plant stability.
  • Facilitate and participate in risk assessments, production, and safety incident investigations.
  • Conduct reliability assessments to determine major causes of downtime.
  • Implement improvement projects or raise detailed maintenance notifications to ensure defect elimination.
  • Manage bridging and forcing registers and resolve underlying issues.
  • Ensure engineering resources, structure, and systems are in place to support maintenance processes.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant statutory and legislative provisions.

Requirements

  • A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical) or higher, recognized by Engineers Australia.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of asset management, service, and maintenance of heavy industrial power systems.
  • Comprehensive understanding of LV electrical equipment, including distribution assets, protection devices, motors, drives, and instrumentation.
  • Familiar with relevant regulatory authorities and Australian Standards relating to electrical installations and practices.
